Lauren Adams is a ceramist and
teacher, who lives in Brooklyn, New York. She makes functional
porcelain pottery in her studio in Williamsburg.
She
works with a high temperature porcelain which is fired in oxidation.
The featured ceramic wares are all hand-made using two techniques:
Cast Porcelain
The
cast pieces are made using liquid porcelains. The styles are
individually designed on the wheel and a mold is made to create an
edition of each shape. The surfaces on the hand painted styles are
unique and vary from piece to piece.
Thrown and Hand-built Porcelain

These
pieces are all hand-made using a variety processes with a porcelain
clay. The thrown and hand-built wares displayed are representative
examples of the range that is available. Similar or related pieces can
be made.
All of the wares have a soft, satin-matte exterior and are lined with a glossy food-safe glaze.
